AIS 061 standard applies to replacement service brake lining assemblies intended for use in friction brakes forming part of the braking system of power-driven vehicles and their trailers and semi trailers authorized for use on public roads.
According to the EU vehicle framework regulation (EU) 2018/858 and its invocate Regulation (EC) No 661/2009 (the equivalent regulation is UN ECE R116), the vehicle alarm systems (VAS) which are intended to be permanently fitted to vehicles of category M1 and those of category N1 with a maximum mass of not more than 2 tonnes need to be type-approved as components firstly and then, they can be put on the EU market.
The RVSA will replace the existing Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 (MVSA) and deliver an updated and modernised system to regulate the first provision of road vehicles to the Australian market. The RVS legislation will commence in full on 1 July 2021.
