RELEASE DATE:2020-03-18 17:19
Brief: The Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) is the technical requirement established by the Thailand Industrial Standard Institute (TISI) to achieve standardization and aim for the best quality products. TISI is releasing 17 TIS standards about electric vehicles, traction batteries and charging systems in March, 2020.

THAILAND TISI PRODUCT CERTIFICATION
The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) is the regulating authority for Thai industrial product certification. Its main functions are consumer protection, environmental protection and natural resource protection, promoting the international competitiveness of domestic industries, ensuring fair trade, and eliminating international trade barriers caused by standardization measures. TISI provides two certification marks, namely voluntary certification mark and compulsory certification mark.
TISI CERTIFICATION FOR MOTORCYCLE EMISSION
There are <Motor Vehicle Act> for passenger motor vehicles and <Land Transport Act> for commercial motor vehicles that in implementation. But for vehicle level, system level and component level of electric vehicles, electric motorcycles and hybrid electric vehicles, there are no expressly rules to regulate, and the requirements in whole-vehicle type approval (EV) are not clear.
Considering quality and safety of automotive products in massive production, Thailand Ministry of Industry draft a series of TIS Thailand Industrial Standards subjecting safety, driving, functions, charging and energy efficient of electric vehicles, and is releasing in March, 2020.
