A BRIEF ANALYSIS OF GCC MOTORCYCLE CERTIFICATION

Brief: In February 2020, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strengthened the supervision of Category L vehicle, all motorcycle products entering the GCC member states, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Yemen, 7 countries, must obtain GCC certificate. The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), a Regional Standardization Organization (RSO) established by the resolution of the GCC Supreme Council, is Regulators of GCC certification of Motor Vehicle and Tires. Manufacturers of Motorcycles, Mopeds, Tricycle, ATV (all-terrain vehicles) and UTV (Utility Terrain Vehicles) shall ensure that their products comply with GSO regulations and submit compliance test reports to GSO to obtain GCC certificates.
