Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute (KATRI) is a research institute under the Korea Transportation Safety Bureau, and is one of the automobile performance and safety testing institutes designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation (MOLIT), as well as one of the automobile emission and noise testing institutes designated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MOE). It is also one of the testing organisations for vehicle emission and noise designated by MOE, Ministry of Environmental Protection. The main responsibilities of KATRI include automotive self-certification and defect investigation, new vehicle evaluation procedures, technical audits and safety compliance investigations, international safety standard WP29 activities, R&D testing and support, and research and development of various vehicle components.

The National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) was established in 2005 as an organisation directly under the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Korea, and is responsible for research projects and surveys on environmental protection and air pollution protection, research on advanced technologies to reduce automotive emissions, and certification of automotive emissions and noise. etc.

Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR) is one of the largest comprehensive testing and certification organisations in Korea, and was established to effectively conduct testing, research and certification as well as technological development in the fields of chemistry and environment, biology and nanotechnology, components and materials, information and communication, and high-tech convergence. It provides high quality testing and certification services to companies through testing and analysis, inspection, certification, assessment, evaluation, type examination, calibration and other conformity assessment, technology research and development, standardisation business, technical barrier action, diagnosis and testing.

KTR is accredited by the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Environment, etc., to conduct safety testing of electrical and electronic products, safety testing of household goods and children's products, energy efficiency rating testing of electrical appliances, wireless testing of ICT products, as well as chemical safety testing and certification.

Korea Wireless Test Laboratory KTCL is authorised by the Ministry of Communications as a wireless test and certification body with comprehensive capabilities in wireless RF testing, RF-EMC testing and EMC testing. It is also authorised by the Ministry of Industry for safety testing of electrical and electronic products, and is capable of testing and certifying batteries, lamps and lanterns, ITE, and household electrical equipment.
