Brief: In February 2020, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strengthened the supervision of Category L vehicle, all motorcycle products entering the GCC member states, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Yemen, 7 countries, must obtain GCC certificate. Recently, ATIC helped many motorcycle manufacturers obtain GCC certificates.
GCC CERTIFICATION INTRODUCTION
GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) is a Regional Standardization Organization (RSO) which was established by the resolution of the GCC Supreme Council (22nd Session, Muscat, Oman, 30-31 December 2001) and assumed its operation in May 2004 with membership of the governments of The State of the United Arab Emirates, The Kingdom of Bahrain, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Sultanate of Oman, The State of Qatar, and The State of Kuwait.
The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), a Regional Standardization Organization (RSO) established by the resolution of the GCC Supreme Council, is Regulators of GCC certification of Motor Vehicle and Tires.
Manufacturers of Motorcycles, Mopeds, Tricycle, ATV (all-terrain vehicles), UTV (Utility Terrain Vehicles) and Tires shall ensure that their products comply with GSO regulations and submit compliance test reports to GSO to obtain GCC certificates.

THE PROCEDURE OF CERTIFICATION
1. Certification application
Applicant apply the certification applications as needed.
2. Factory audit
GSO will send auditors on site to review and evaluate the factory's quality management system and production consistency control system. Due to the impact of the COVID, currently GSO adopts the measures of issuing certificates first and supplementing factory audits after the epidemic becomes clear.
3. Documents and samples preparation
Provide technical documents corresponding to the product and prepare test samples (If multiple models, they need to be evaluated and then the manufacturer prepares designated samples).
4. Testing and Reports
Tests are conducted in designated laboratories in accordance with corresponding regulations, ATIC will witness and issue the reports.
5. Submit for review
The technical documents will be submitted to GSO for review and certificate application.
8. Certificate issuance
After the application is approved, the GCC certificate will be issued.
