Brief: The Gulf Standards Organization (GSO) is a subsidiary of GCC and is headquartered in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. GSO is a member of the International Organization for Standardization such as IEC, ISO, OIML. Since January 1, 2005, GSO has inspected and issued GCC certification for motor vehicles and tire products in accordance with relevant Gulf standards. The approved GCC certificate will be available at all GCC member states. ATIC provides GCC certification services for motor vehicles and components.
GCC CERTIFICATION
The Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) was established on May 25, 1981 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. GCC members include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the seven countries of Yemen. The GCC General Secretariat is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Gulf Standards Organization (GSO), the full name of the Standardization Organization of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, is a subsidiary of GCC and is headquartered in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. GSO is a member of international standardization organizations such as IEC, ISO, and OIML. GSO made a decision at the Kuwait Ministerial Meeting on October 12, 2004. Since January 1, 2005, GSO has inspected and issued GCC certification for motor vehicles and tire products in accordance with relevant Gulf standards. The approved GCC certificate will be valid in all GCC member countries.
The Gulf Certification Type Test Project mainly tests various items of the general safety of automobiles according to the GSO 42 standard, including: vehicle size, total vehicle quality, stability, engine, fuel system, cooling system, electrical system, emission inspection project, and emission. , steering system inspection items, controls, tires and rims, seats, seat belts, glass, mirrors, horns, exterior noise, flammability, luminaire installation, speedometers and odometers, overspeed alarms and speed limiters , wiper and defrost defogging system, nameplate, VIN, on-board tools, user manual, vehicle collision and door, top extrusion test, etc.
Due to the climatic characteristics of high temperature, salt spray and sand in the Gulf, GCC requires inspection of special items for certified vehicles, including: batteries, radiators, spare tires, and vehicle warning signs.
GSO has special regulations for pilgrimage cars, and pilgrimage cars must comply with GSO-related standards.
