Brief: Recently, GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) issued latest second edition of 2025 Motor Vehicle Technical Regulations requirements (GSO Technical Regulations MV 2025 MY-D2), which modifies some of the requirements for export motor vehicles to the GCC member countries compared to the requirements of the fourth edition of the 2024 Motor Vehicle Technical Regulations (GSO Technical Regulations MV 2024 MY-D4).

GSO, whose full name is The Standardization Organization of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, is a Regional Standardization Organization (RSO) with membership of the governments of The State of the United Arab Emirates, The Kingdom of Bahrain, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Sultanate of Oman, The State of Kuwait, The State of Qatar and Republic of Yemen.
From 2025 onwards, motor vehicles exported to the GCC member countries must comply with the requirements of the latest second edition of the 2025 Motor Vehicle Technical Regulations. At the same time, exports to member countries are also subject to the national regulations of member countries listed in the annex to the list of technical regulations.
