Kenya PVoC certification
The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) began implementing the Pre-Export Standards Compliance Verification Program (PVoC) on September 29, 2005, a conformity assessment and verification process for specific commodities for each exporting country to ensure imported products. Quality and health and safety of Kenyans and environmental protection are in accordance with Kenyan technical regulations and mandatory standards or approved equivalent standards. All goods in the PVoC catalogue must be issued with Certificate of Conformity (CoC) before shipment, and products not included in the PVoC inspection product list are subject to port of destination inspection.
General Steps
Product Testing
ATIC engineers will propose a testing plan and manufacture send testing samples to designated testing labs. ATIC will follow up testing and reporting process.
Apply for Inspection
ATIC will support manufacturer to prepare application documents and propose a inspection plan based on regulations.
Certificate Application
Kenyan government agencies will conduct the inspection, after the inspection ATIC will support the manufacture to submit the certificate application.
Issuing a Certificate
After all documents reviewed and inspection passed Kenyan government agencies will issue the certificate.
