Brief: INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality) is a government department directly under the Ministry of Development,Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil. In 2012, INMETRO issued Ordinance No. 299, which requires that lead-acid batteries for motorcycles and automobiles be INMETRO certified before they can legally enter the Brazilian market. Recently ATIC assisted a lead-acid battery company to obtain INMETRO certificate.
