The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) is the administrative agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Taiwan (ROC) responsible for standardization, metrology and product inspection in Taiwan.
Taiwan industrial standards CNS are the highest standards applied in Taiwan, established by BSMI since 1935 and come into force since 1944. 26 categories of CNS regard to different aspects. CNS are voluntary not until regulatory authorities use them as regulations. Over 15000 CNS are published.
According to CNS standards that BSMI established, all MOE listed mandatory approval products shall be inspected when they are locally produced or imported before entering Taiwan market.
