After acceptance, the products, documentation and test reports are reviewed and inspected in accordance with the prescribed procedures, the applicant will obtain a certificate after approval.

ATIC EU Homologation

The European Union officially announced a new version of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU on May 22, 2014, which is based on the new CE framework directive 768/2008/EC. After June 13, 2017, radio equipments shall be tested according to RED, and bear the CE-mark before legally sold in EU countries. RED scope covers short-range wireless products, wireless phones, ISDN, mobile phones, data transmission equipments, bluetooth products, wireless broadcast receiver equipments, etc.

FCC certification

To ensure the safety of radio and wired communication products, many radio applications, communication products and digital products require the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval before entering the US market. According to the FCC rules, there are Certification scheme and Declaration of Conformity (DoC) scheme, for the certification scheme products need to be tested in an FCC approved testing laboratory while the DoC scheme needs to provide test reports and other certificate according to the procedure for declaration.

The regulatory authority of Russia telecom product certification is the Federal Communications Agency (FAC) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, also known as FAC Certification. The certification scope includes equipment and software installed or connected to the general telecommunication network to transmit data, voice, broadcasting and any other services. FAC Certification modes includes FAC CoC and FAC DoC. If products that have obtained FAC DoC and FAC CoC want to enter other countries in the Eurasian market, they need to complete the certification procedures in accordance with the certification requirements of the corresponding countries.

ATIC Japan Vehicle Type Approval Service

Japanese telecommunication authority is the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). According to the Japanese Radio Wave Act, telecommunication products entering the Japanese market must complete MIC certification in accordance with relevant requirements. MIC certification products are divided into 3 categories: Category I devices do not require a network license or registration, such as wireless microphones, low-power devices, and low-power data transmission systems such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. The second category includes radio devices governed by Article 27-2 of the Radio Wave Law which need to accept comprehensive license restrictions, a total of 36 products, e.g.: mobile phone (3G, LTE). The third category is a simple network approval or registration in addition to the first and second categories, a total of 98 types, e.g.: cell phone base station, amateur radio station, etc.

The regulatory body for Australian telecommunication products is the Australian Communications and Media Authority - ACMA, which was formed by the merger of the Australian Broadcasting Authority and the Australian Communications Authority in July 2015. According to the regulation, telecommunication products entering the Australian market need to obtain ACMA certificates. According to the current regulation, the compliance level includes a declaration of compliance, a compliance report and a compliance certificate, existing testing report according to international regulations may be accepted under conditions.

According to the Korean Radio Wave Act, the certification modes for wireless communication products include: conformity certification, registration and transitional certification. The products for conformity certification include radiotelephone automatic receivers, ship radar equipments, telephones and modems. The products that need to be registered mainly include measuring instruments, industrial equipments, connectors, computer equipments & peripherals, and broadcast STBs, etc. The transitional certification mode applies to equipment that their conformity assessment standards are not yet provided. Any of the above certification shall be applied for wireless communication products entering Korean market.

Indonesia Telecom Certification

As a subordinate department of the Indonesian Ministry of Telecommunications, the Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology (SDPPI) is in charge of policy making and supervision of telecommunications and related fields. It is also responsible for document review and certification. Whether it is produced in Indonesia or imported into Indonesia, telecommunication products shall obtain SDPPI certificates before entering the market. The purpose of SDPPI certification is to make the product more reliable and safe throughout the society. Sample testing must be performed by SDPPI authorized laboratories. The certification scope covers cellular mobile devices, Bluetooth, laptops, mobile phones, WLAN, routers, radar, STBs, wireless phones, antennas, cables, etc.

The Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) Wing of the Ministry of Communications, created in 1952, is the National Radio Regulatory Authority responsible for Frequency Spectrum Management, including licensing and caters for the needs of all wireless users (Government and Private) in the country. The approvals issued by WPC include: Equipment Type Approval (ETA), Type Approval, Experimental Approval, Dealer and non-Dealer Possession Licenses (DPL and NDPL) and Import Licenses for radio equipment. For foreign producers, however, in most cases only the ETA is relevant. WPC certification is used abroad as a synonym for ETA.

SUBTEL (Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones) is an agency affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications of Chile. It aims to coordinate, promote and develop the telecommunications industry in Chile, propose national policies on telecommunications, and monitor the compliance of public and private companies in the industry with relevant laws, regulations and standards. Products under its supervision require approval and certification before commercialized in Chile. In most cases, Chile does not require sample testing and existing test reports can be used for the certification process. Technical documents will be reviewed and confirmed during the approval process. The test results for the FCC and CE are directly recognized.

The Mexican government formulates relevant standards for various products according to the Mexican Federal Metrology and Standardization Law.
