Brief: On December 6, 2023, the first Gulf GSO Tire Compliance Audit Process Seminar was successfully held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Qingdao, Shandong, China. Over 40 industry experts from tire manufacturing companies, automobile manufacturers, and third-party laboratories attended the conference.
The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) is a regional, intergovernmental, non-profit organization established by the Gulf Cooperation Council. Members include The State of the United Arab Emirates, The Kingdom of Bahrain, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Sultanate of Oman, The State of Qatar, and The State of Kuwait, and the Republic of Yemen.
GSO is committed to cooperating and coordinating with national standardization organizations of member countries, unifying various standardization activities and product access certification requirements.
Currently, GSO regulates GSO certification for new motor vehicles, motorcycles, and vehicle tires accessing member countries. This is the first time that GSO hosts an official certification seminar in China, and the Seminar has received full support and recognition from GSO President Saud Al-Khusaibi, GSO International Relations Head Dr. Zaki Al-Rubaei, and GSO Senior Conformity Engineer Mr. Mohammed Al-Zahrani.
In this seminar, Mr. Mohammed Al-Zahrani gave detailed explanation on the manufacturer information registration and authorized person reference, tire product design specifications and usage marking, technical requirements and testing methods, certificate application and recall system involved in the GSO tire product conformity assessment process.
