Ukraine Vehicle Type Approval
Technical regulations in Ukraine are coordinated by the Department for Technical Regulations of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and developed by the State Enterprise Ukrainian Scientific, Research and Training Center for Certification, Standards, and Quality (SE “UkrNDNC) which serves as a national standardization body. The technical regulation regarding vehicle and vehicle component is release by Ministry of Infrastructure in Ukraine. Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine is the central executive body in the field of transport, road management, provision of postal services and infrastructure. The main tasks of the Ministry are: Formation and implementation of state policy in the spheres of transport, use of the airspace of Ukraine, road management, provision of postal services; Formation and implementation of state policy in the field of traffic safety, navigation and hydrographic support of shipping, merchant shipping; Participation within its powers in the formation and implementation of state tariff policy and public procurement policy in the field of postal services.
According to the vehicle regulations formulated by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, local manufactured or imported vehicles must obtain the Type of Approval Certificate before entering into market. Ukraine became a Contracting Party to the Geneva Agreement of 1958 in 2000, Ukraine is purposefully harmonizing its legislation with EU legislation and UNECE regulations regarding automotive safety. Ukraine accept vehicles that comply from Euro-2 to Euro-6.
